The Ubiquitous Visible Light Communication
@

Our human life will be supported by the computer networks which will recognize and optimize our human temporal and spatial environment.

For example:
-Information system to recognize the human site positioning.
-Information system to classify the physical characteristics
-Information system to capture the spatial environment such as climate including
sunlight, wind, temperature and humidity, etc.

The ubiquitous computing means to recognize and optimize our human environment
by such kind of information systems, etc.

Ken Sakamura & Masao Nakagawa

There are already many devices in use of visible light including personal computers,
TVs, cell phones and advertising boards, etc. LED components are recently exploited to
these devices. IrDA and small LED lamps attached to home appliance have been often
utilized everywhere. The visible light communication can be seamlessly employed in
conjunction with these devices and terminals. Thus, it will be possible to have a human
interface communication system which is secure, high-speed response, high data rate,
low power consumption and cleaner harmless to humans.

The visible light communication is very suitable to the ubiquitous environment in terms
of human interface to assure the comfortable human life.
